Our teachers, administrators, and students must have the resources they need to function and to grow. I will advocate for the resources our teachers need so that every child, regardless of their status, class, or race, receives a quality education that allows them to develop intellectually and contribute to humankind locally, nationally, and globally.
We must continue to create safe spaces where our children will learn and thrive. I will work closely with teachers and administrators to address bullying, teen suicide, juvenile diabetes and other issues that compromise our students’ well-being. We must work with businesses to create training programs that prepare our students to transition to college or into the work force.
Together we will continue to prepare well-trained students to enter college or the work force. Students will be apprised of all resources available to them including postsecondary education, job certifications, or vocational skills that will help them compete for employment opportunities that pay a living wage. My top priorities include increasing teacher pay, investing in early childhood education (pre-K programs), and ensuring that each county receives the resources needed to provide a quality education for our students.
